Information Literacy For All: Designing Inclusive Research-Intensive Courses

Information Literacy Workshop

When: Wednesday, March 19th, 10:00am – 11:30am
Where: In-Person on WCU’s Main Campus, Specific Location TBA

WCU faculty are invited to join us for a 90-minute interactive workshop facilitated by Information Literacy Librarian, Megan Donnelly. This workshop will encourage reflective practice, explore common gaps in the curricula and resource allocation, and provide easy to implement inclusive course design practices that facilitate students learning of information literacy concepts and foster lifelong learning through effective and ethical information seeking and application strategies.

Participants will learn how to break down complex research tasks into manageable steps, reducing cognitive overload while fostering critical thinking and effective information use. Through reflection, discussion, and application of concepts through active exercises, faculty will gain practical tools to enhance student success in research across disciplines.

Participants should bring a syllabus, learning object, or research assignment instructions to revise during the workshop.

If you are interested in attending this workshop, please register by completing the Information Literacy Unlocked Registration Form by Monday, March 17th. If you have any questions about this workshop, please contact the TLC at tlc@wcupa.edu.
